Hi ,
The ICD-10 conversion is less than two years away, scheduled
to take place on October 1, 2014. While hardware and software
updates as well as payer and vendor coordination are pressing
issues for providers looking to implement the switch,
education and training for the staff who will be directly
involved in using the new ICD-10 codes is more pressing still.
Physicians may need to get used to including more specific
information in their charts, while coders will have to learn
details of anatomy and physiology they didn't need to know
before, due to ICD-10's in-depth specificity......
